Call of Duty: Black Ops II was released as a Wii U launch title on November 18, 2012. The Wii U port, along with all patches, hot-fixes, updates, and DLC was handled exclusively by Treyarch.

Wii U Exclusive Features Edit

  • Control Options: Players can use a variety of controllers, most of which deal with the "classic" style of dual analog sticks (Wii U Gamepad, Wii U Pro Controller, Wii Classic Controller, and Wii Classic Controller Pro), or can also choose to use motion controls/aiming (Wii Remote + Nunchuck and Wii Zapper)
  • Off-TV Play: As with many Wii U games, this title supports playing remotely on the Wii U Gamepad screen
  • Gamepad Menu: When not being used as the display, the Wii U Gamepad's touchscreen can be used to select Scorestreaks, view the Scoreboard, and other "Pause" Menu options in Multiplayer modes
  • Dual-Screen Co-op: Along with traditional split-screen co-op, a player can play with a friend using the Dual-Screen option, which gives one player the entire TV screen and the other the Gamepad screen, which is arguably the best co-op experience to date.

Nuketown 2025 Edit

Nuketown 2025 is a Multiplayer map announced as a DLC pre-order bonus for all systems prior to launch. 1-2 weeks before the launch of the game, the Wii U's pre-order bonus was suddenly removed with no explanation given.

On, August 8, 2014, Nuketown 2025 was suddenly given to the community for free and put in the game via update. A "Double XP Weekend" followed (for both player and weapon XP), along with a Bonus "Nuketown 24/7" playlist.
